A creative solution for traditional Easter chocolate packaging. Handmade/ artisan chocolate industry is for the most part relying on the seasonal sales such as Christmas or Easter in this case. With this solution I had to satisfy three main points: eco-friendly packaging, unique quality/differentiation of said product/packaging and production cost. Hence the egg carton solution helps to resolve all of the above key requirements. The carton is made from moulded pulp which is considered to be a good choice for a single use packaging.
By taking already existing and recognisable form and using it in unconventional ways helps to elevate and differentiate the product on shelves. Clean and minimal design of belly band further accentuated this idea and evoke brands message and values of clean and minimal ingredients.
The band or the carton didn't require complex printing or finishing which helped to keep printing costs down, yielding a high margin. This allowed for the best ingredients to be used in the production of the chocolate, which was important for the company.
